Georgetown, Penang: A Town of Little Treasures

Before I left Penang for home after they final touch up of my thesis, I decided to explore Georgetown on my own.

If I can describe Georgetown in just one word, it will be nolstagia. Kinda ironic since I have not been born when most of the buildings I saw were built. But that's just how Georgetown makes you feel.

Walking around this town, you see the awkward mix of old and new. The funny thing is, it works.

When you see the mix of old and new, it takes you back in time, it leaves you wondering, "How was life back then?" and "One day, would all these amazing structures of history and culture disappear?"

I am no expert of history, culture and all that jizz but I love how Georgetown makes me feel. It's different from the busy Kuala Lumpur. In Georgetown, parts of it shows how much Penang has progressed yet in certain parts, it still represents the laid back, full of culture part of Penang.

I now understand why Georgetown was listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites =)

Georgetown is a town of little treasures to be discovered. Enjoy the photos!
